Fantastic showing at Stockport from the team, against some of the fastest swimmers around. We were treated to some excellent racing across the weekend.
Big thumbs up and special mention to Simon for an outstanding effort in the 100 Free, placing 2nd overall in a new PB. Swimming is brutal though with 0.02 separating Simon from the time he wanted for Winter Nationals. Onwards and upwards
Jack had a great swim for 8th in the 17/over with a second fastest ever time in the 100 Free and then Jack was a welcome support to the team this afternoon taking splits and discussing race tactics
Caitlyn is getting back to her best with a great 100 Breast for 5th in the 16 age group and then she smashed her 50 Free PB for 13th place.
Sam swam well for 10th in the 400 Free, with just a few tweaks in pacing around the middle he’d have taken a PB
but solid swimming nonetheless.
Sophia swam brilliantly in the 200 Free consolidating her new PB and getting the process right for 7th, she also swam to a great 7th in the 50 Free

Max swam a great 50 breast winning his heat for a seasons best and 4th in the 16 years age group - hitting his first 25 exactly how he wanted to. (Thanks to Jack for the timekeeping
)
A big thanks to Dylan and Lewis for leading on the Coach support this morning
Sunday kicked off with a little bit of a flat start for Sam in the 400 IM, but after a swim down and a chat with the team he came back for a massive PB in the 50 Fly
That is definitely the way to roll! Love this Sam

Jack stepped up for probably the swim of the day with a life time best in 100 fly and a really well executed race plan. He was 0.1 outside the Winter Nationals time and couldn’t quite match it in the final but it was a fantastic effort, with lots of potential. He sandwiched the heat and final with a great 50 Fly winning the 17 and over age group! Nice morning Jack

Next up was Sophia in the 100 Free with a strong swim for 7th in her age group. She then swam a solid 50 back. Sophia swam the backstroke as a warm up for her 400 free which we were using purely to help her learn the race process… and she smashed out an outstanding PB! Well done Sophia
Jack kicked off with a PB in the 100 IM to get the afternoon session started.
Simon arrived for the afternoon session knowing he had some serious speed, ready for the 50 Free. He delivered with a new PB at 23.81 and a safe Winter Nationals time, also taking the overall win in the 17 and overs
Jack wasn’t far behind in 6th with a new PB time too.
Our last swimmer of the day was Caitlyn, who’d also been volunteering as a marshal in the morning session. She’s always strong in a 50 breast and she did not disappoint, well done Caitlyn
great swimming.
That marked the end of a great weekend of swimming! Back at Alty tonight we were sad to say goodbye to James F who has taken the tough decision to hang up his goggles
after 8 years of swimming with the Club. James is a big part of our history and we wish him all the very best in the future. James has represented ASC at almost every level and we thank him for his loyalty and commitment to ASC
we know you will go far in life
