We had a fantastic evening of really fast racing at Macclesfield last night.  It marked the end of our first season in the Premier Division, a big step up for a relatively small club like Altrincham.  It’s testimony to the hard work we have done over the last few years that we can hold our own with such established and high profile clubs.

Our intention was stay up in the league for 2024 which meant we needed to place 5th or better. Like every team, we had a mix of depth & experience, plus last minute illnesses and injuries to contend with, & every swimmer was crucial to us being able to stay up in the Premier Division.

The team swam as though their lives depended on it, pulling together at every opportunity. It was truly fantastic to see, and I’d almost lost my voice by race 10 😂   Tracking 4th & 5th across the night in the interim results we were head to head with Southport, Wrexham and Crosby - all fantastic teams who we loved racing with.

We had a cracking backend of the session with our best canon to date and we finished the gala in THIRD PLACE OVERALL 🥉 This was truly outstanding!

A huge well done to the cannon of Emily, Wendy, Poppy, Luca,Frankie, Oscar, Michael & Ashley - that was epic swimming!

We had a number of wins which are always tough to get, so an extra well done to Davey, Tom, Oscar,Michael G, 13/u free relay (Tom, Sam, Harry, Oscar) & the 16+ free relay (Ash, Lachie, Dylan, Davey)🥇

Well done to all the other teams, it was a privilege to race with you: Final results (if I heard them right!)
